Want to relive iOS 6 style on some of your old devices? Now there is a possibility that allows users to downgrade their iPhone 4s and iPad 2 back to iOS 6.1.3 from any firmware, and most important that such method no SHSH blobs required.
As Apple is still signing iOS 6.1.3 for iPhone 4s and iPad 2 over-the-air (OTA), so an iOS developer @tihmstar just take advantage of this point to create a tool dubbed “odysseusOTA” for downgrading. Want to see the downgrade in action? Then watch this detailed step-by-step video.
This downgrade process requires a jailbroken device and the odysseusOTA, and will have extremely limited use-case scenarios, as it is strictly limited to the aforementioned firmware / hardware combos. Moreover, it’s also possible to jailbreak the iPhone 4s and iPad 2 running on iOS 6.1.3 using the p0sixspwn tool.
@tihmstar also credits @winocm, @xerub, and @ih8sn0w, all of which also contributed to the creation of this tool either directly or indirectly.
So now if you just have an iPhone 4s or an iPad 2 and want back to iOS 6.1.3, then odysseusOTA will be your only choice.
