Today Chronic Dev Team released updates for Corona 5.0.1 untether in Cydia, Saurik recommend for all the iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreakers install this update, the Corona 1.0-8 version. In Corona 5.0.1 Untether 1.0-8 we see support for installing the update on the iPhone 4S running the iOS 5.0 firmware.
Corona 5.0.1 untether was released back in the last week of December to untethered jailbreak non-A5 devices which includes iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch 4G, 3G.
The Previous Corona 5.0.1 Untether 1.0-7 Update fixed the iBooks DRM issue due to which images were not displayed correctly in iBooks. Yesterday iPhone-Dev team also released redsn0w 0.9.10b5 which also fixed iBooks DRM issues on all non A5 devices.
If you’ve already jailbroken your iOS device using Corona 5.0.1 Untether you can update to Corona 5.0.1 Untether 1.0-8 by simply going to Cydia and downloading updated package, if you used RedSn0w 0.9.10b5 to jailbreak your iDevce, there’s no need to install this Corona update.
Install Corona: Open Cydia, and wait for Cydia to download data and reload data. Then you should be able to search for Corona 5.0.1 Untether and find it.
As Corona 5.0.1 Untether package is jailbreak dependent so if you haven’t jailbroken your iOS device we recommend you guys to use redsn0w for jailbreaking.

- If you are iPhone 4S / iPad 2 User and jailbroken your device with Absinthe, installing Corona 5.0.1 Untether 1.0-8 from Cydia.
- If you are iPhone 4/3Gs, iPad 1, iPod Touch 4G/3G user, please use redsn0w 0.9.10b5 to re-jailbreak your device to fix iBooks issue, make sure to uncheck “Install Cydia option if you’re re-jailbreaking.
